snow and mistletoe shaker

Well I just love this sentiment and thought I should decorate it appropriately – with snow and mistletoe, of course.  I die cut the wreath with the Joy Wreath Die from two kinds of green shimmery cardstock from my stash.  I used copic marker V05 to color the berries (but white pearls or Nuvo drops would be good too). The card panel has a circle cut that is near the same dimensions as the wreath.  Using It’s a Boy and Something Borrowed inks, I lightly colored the card base and the front panel for a light halo of blue.

The wreaths were added to the front panel and also some silver glitter washi tape. On the card base, the sentiment and various snowflakes from the collection were stamped and embossed white.  The shaker contents are a mixture of Marshmallow and Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, with the addition of some Martha Stewart Mica Flake glitter. It is snowflake heaven!

snowflake christmas

Catherine’s Inks are divine!  I found myself wanting to play with them even more than just stamping and ink blending, so I added Mint To BeIt’s a Girl and Garden Party inks to my non-stick craft sheet and and spritzed them heavily with water, and the lightest spritz of Heidi Swapp’s White Shine mist.  I smooshed the cardstock panel into the ink and then dried it with a heat tool.  I did this once more to give a little variation in color and dried the panel completely.  Once the panel was dry, I stamped one of the trees from the Here We Come A-Carroling Stamp Set.  This would be cute with more trees too

I sprayed the same shine mist again on plain white cardstock to make it shimmery too and die cut the snowflakes from the Good Stuff Dies.  I even used the center piece (tiny hexagon) and glued them to the panel for more snow. I cut two snowbanksfrom the Winterhaven Dies and stamped the sentiment in Black Jack ink.  Pretty Pink Posh sequins are the finishing touch in both marshmallow and sparkling clear. I’m still *swooning* over that background.  I may have to try that again!

good stuff inside tag

I love happy accidents, don’t you? Well, I had one with this project and I’m really happy with my solution to my crafty glitch. This tag is so cute, and probably one of my favorite things I created during this entire release.  Remember that green shimmer paper from the wreath?  I used it again with the tag die from the Good Stuff Dies.  Under that pink bow is a little hole that you can use to attach your tag to a gift or add a ribbon for decoration. How cute is that? You can also cut it off and just use both of the octagonal dies to create more layers.  Very versatile!
My main panel is white cardstock.  I stamped the large sentiment from the Good Stuff Stamp Set in Mint to Be ink and several of the leaves and berries from the ‘Tis the Season Stamp Set using Mint to BeAquatiniIt’s a GirlParty Dress and Rockin’ Red. Then, I got my prismacolor pencils out and went to town.  Mint to Be ink is very light – you can see it in this photo where it says “stuff” in the middle.  I picked shades of aqua and green over the word “GOOD” to create an ombre look.  I used a pink pencil close to the color of Party Dress ink to draw over the word “inside”. To continue the colored pencil look, I added details to other leaves and berries.

I used my Wink of Stella brush over the berries and at the very end, the pen dropped a big shimmery drop on the panel.  WHAT TO DO????  Using some Mister Huey’s Shine mist (yes I still have some because I’m a product hoarder – LOL), I sprayed the whole white panel.  It was shimmer heaven!  But, then….the inks reacted to the water in the mist, and their color faded ever so slightly, revealing the pencil details even more.  OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!  I’m In LOVE! This picture is pretty good, but in real life?  *THUD*
