January Pin-Sights Challenge | Purple Kindness

Hello! I hope you are all having a wonderful new year! I know I am. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be sharing my card that was inspired by the Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge and using lovely stamps from Essentials by Ellen illustrated by Julie Ebersole. I was fortunate enough to meet both of these lovely and generous ladies a few years ago at CHA. We had such a great time!
Are you new to this challenge? Here are the details. The Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights challenge is a monthly inspirational challenge based on a Color Trend Inspirational photo that can be found on the CLASSroom blog. This month’s challenge is pictured below. To play along and be eligible, you MUST use Essentials by Ellen products and the photo badge as inspiration. On the challenge post, you will find an inlinkz link up to submit your project. A random challenge participant will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store. Love that!!!
Pin-Sights Color Trend January Purple Haze

a bit of {purple} kindness

I love purple, and when Pantone made their color for 2018 Ultra VioletI was thrilled beyond belief? I can use more purple without people thinking I’m just stuck in the 80’s. LOL Then, the challenge moodboard arrived in my inbox, and it included lovely shades of purples that really had me inspired.
First I worked on the background panel using distress inks and creating some lovely shades of purple and green, and then stamped and embossed flowers and leaves in white embossing powder. I set the panel at an angle because I was inspired by the similar shape behind the woman in the challenge picture. The sentiment is perfect for a card for a friend or when sending a gift of thanks.
I also stamped the large flower and stem on vellum and embossed those with Platinum Metallic Sparkle embossing powder. I really think this is my new favorite go to instead of using silver or gold, and the extra sparkle is lovely! I cut these using the coordinating designer dies and then colored the back of the vellum with copics, and a few detail strokes on the front too. The final touch of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh adds just a bit more sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this card inspires you to get inky and play along. Head on over to the CLASSroom to check out the other inspiration for this challenge.
