About Julie

Hi! I’m Julie.
I’m a freelance illustrator and designer living in San Antonio with my husband, Davis and my dog, Walter. {Isn't he cute?}
I love creating products that inspire your projects and make your heart happy.
Long before I created Julie Mogford Designs, I loved stamping, paper-crafting, and creating handmade cards but I also admired designs by artists for stamping, scrapbooking and stationery products. I can even remember looking at products and saying to myself, ‘I wish I could make that’. During my teaching years, I attended a technology professional development course that included using Adobe Photoshop and I was intrigued by this new form of creativity. I was gifted a copy of the Photoshop and Illustrator software a couple of years later and began on my journey to digital designing. Over the last few years, I’ve had great experiences working in the crafting industry with several companies and co-founding and illustrating stamps, stencils, die cuts and digital products for Winnie and Walter.
I am so excited to continue my illustrating and designing passions by starting my own design business and creating fun and inspiring graphics and other digital products for bloggers, teachers, crafters and makers, and humans of all kinds.
My artwork is primarily illustration, surface patterns and hand lettering for stamps, paper crafting, greetings, stationery, wall art and gifts. The designs and products I create are made by hand, starting with drawings, or using materials in my studio and then taking work to the computer to be completed digitally.

in the press:
a few of my likes:
Movies: When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, Bridget Jones, Love Actually, Julie and Julia, A Room with a View and nearly anything Jane Austen.
TV: Big Bang Theory, Project Runway, Property Brothers, Fixer Upper, Pioneer Woman, The Crown, Victoria, Poldark, Outlander and The Walking Dead. Bet you didn’t expect that last one. LOL
Books: The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown, Poemcrazy by Susan Goldsmith Wooldridge, Taking Flight by Kelly Rae Roberts and Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert.
Also, I can find happiness in some kind of chocolate or cheesecake decadence. 🙂
Walter Sheldon Mogford of Windsong – Walter’s full name. Ironically, Windsong was part of the title of an old blog of mine. He’s named after the character Walter in Fringe, played by John Noble, and Sheldon in Big Bang Theory, played by Jim Parsons (also from Houston). He’s a sweet and spunky Shih Tzu. He’s also my assistant and I don’t know how I would get my work done without him.
